THE Nerja Caves foundation has announced series of projects which are to be launched within the present year.
The foundation approved on Monday (July 27) the creation of a hiking route which will go along the cave’s surface, and the construction of what will be the first view point of the Nerja mountain range. The directing board has given the green light to a project which has already been approved by the Culture and Environment regional departments as well as the town council.
News was announced by president of the Nerja Caves Foundation, Jorge Hernandez Mollar, who stressed that the budget would be increased this year after an agreement with the University of Malaga was signed.
Another project to extend the Plaza de los Descubridores, where the entrance to the caves is located, has also been approved, and it is expected to begin by the end of 2015.
