Fuengirola feels the Pink Floyd experience

ON Saturday July 25, the walls of Sohail Castle, Fuengirola were positively electric with the presence of The Other Side, The Pink Floyd Experience, who brought the overflowing crowd rising up from their seats and begging for more.
Appearing as part of the Festival City of Fuengirola festivities on their Wish You Were Her 40th anniversary tour, the band members, Lluis Gener, Pedro Sanchez, Toni Genestar, Eva Pons, Clara Gorrias, Litus Arguimbau, Simo Bosch and Shanti Gordi gave an excellent performance of their renditions of Pink Floyd classics, that were emotionally overwhelming.
The opening number had the crowd suspended in anticipation as they broke their silence with ‘Shine on You Crazy Diamond’ while laser lights and smoke machines danced about the stage. The nostalgia flowed as each member took to their role immaculately.
Backing singers, Eva Pons and Clara Gorrias gave an amazing performance of ‘Great Gig in the Sky,’ which is famous for its mountainous range in vocals that many musicians would not even attempt. Pedro Sanchez transported the audience back to the 70s and 80s with many other songs accompanied by an audiovisual show with an artistic class production.
Portrayed in true Floyd style, they performed songs ‘Money,’ ‘Time,’ ‘Wish You Were Here,’ and many others. Their magnificent finale displayed a stage packed with children while they belted out ‘Another Brick in the Wall.’
No wonder this tour has created a following with a passion internationally, as every minute of the three-hour long show was magical. Sohail Castle was the perfect backdrop for this incredible band to revive the legendary music of Pink Floyd.
If you have never experienced the Other Side, then look out for the show next time around, it is a show to see if you have fond memories of this quality music.
The 20th Festival City of Fuengirola continues on August 7 with the Malaga singer Vanesa Martin.
