THE Public Prosecutor is requesting nine years for manslaughter for a 48-year-old Marbella man who allegedly stabbed his flatmate with a pair of scissors.
The pair are believed to have had a fight on Christmas Eve, 2013, following a domestic quarrel and the accused used a large pair of scissors to stab his 56-year-old victim, who had threatened him with a knife and died in hospital 17 days later.
Although the prosecution accuses him of manslaughter it believes the jury due to hear the case this autumn should take into account the fact that he acted in self-defence.
Damages amounting to €76,460 for the victim’s mother have also been requested.
