Dr Guillem who is one of the founders of Marbella Cosmetic is a convinced believer in multi-treatment therapy to reach the desired goal. This he has called ‘Cosmetic Fusion.’
Dr Guillem is the longest-standing, British-trained, fully qualified practising practitioner working on the west Costa del Sol. He has been in practice in Spain since 1983 and expanded his interests into Cosmetic Medicine in 2006.
When speaking to Dr Guillem he told us that patients should be in a position whereby they decide how they want to look. This can be achieved by supplying ample information on the different treatments available. In most cases it is best to use more than one form of therapy to achieve the end result desired. Surgical procedures under general anaesthesia may be necessary in some cases, but much can now be achieved using non-invasive and minimally invasive procedures.
 Aesthetic Medicine is not a one-off event; in the past patients were put to sleep and on recovering from the general anaesthetic the end result was irretrievable. Now patients are awake and aware of their treatments as they are carried out, which will probably be administered in a number of sessions, the end result is therefore achieved gradually with the patient being in full control of the situation.
This new approach brings into play another factor which was not being considered in the past, that of maintenance.  This issue has been applied to hair-care. We attend our hairdressers regularly in order to keep our hair in good condition; likewise, we ought to attend our aesthetic therapist in order to maintain the quality of our skin and our looks.
