TWENTY-FOUR provinces in nine Spanish regions are on orange or yellow alert on Monday (July 27), with areas of Andalucia and the eastern coasts likely to reach 40 degrees Celsius, the Aemet State Weather Agency has warned.
In Andalucia, Cordoba and Jaen both have orange alerts (important risk) with maximum temperatures of 40 degrees forecast for Morea, Condado and the Guadalquivir Valley. The remaining six provinces in the region are on yellow alert (risk) for high temperatures.
Meanwhile Alicante and Valencia provinces are on orange alert for intense heat, and the Aemet has forecast temperatures of 40 degrees in inland areas although by the sea these are expected to be slightly lower.
