Javea orders quiet for peaceful summer afternoons

THE annual notice on the restriction of construction noise within the municipality of Javea has been issued.
The ordinance, which takes effect immediately, states that work can be done between 9am and 3pm and then 5pm to 8pm. Any noise during this down time is illegal and the town hall will be monitoring the noise levels. If unacceptable levels are detected the local police will commence disciplinary proceedings and if serious enough may order the immediate suspension of the works.
The regulation, which is applicable to private and commercial works, runs from Wednesday July 15 until Monday August 31.
The only exceptions are essential works authorised by the town hall for road safety and basic services.
