LOCAL POLICE arrested in Velez-Malaga a woman who allegedly attacked police officer with a bamboo stick while authorities were breaking up a fight.
The events took place on Sunday (July 19) at around 10.30pm, when National and Local Police officers were alerted to a brawl near a newsstand in Avenida Vilvar Tellez.
Upon their arrival, police found two men screaming at each other, both with minor injuries. The newsstand owner claimed that the other man had visited his property to buy beer, but he refused saying he owed him money from previous purchases. After that, the owner claims the man became infuriated and started beating him, a version that was confirmed by one of the witnesses.
In the meantime, a woman approached the area armed with two knives and a bamboo stick, and attempted to attack the buyer. When one of the officers tried to stop the attack, she reportedly hit him up to three times in the chest.
Finally, she was taken into custody at the National Police station of Torre del Mar.
