ALMERIA businessmen lamented the lack of progress on the AVE high speed train.Chamber of Commerce president, Diego Martinez Cano, and Jose Cano of the Asempal business-owners’ association met to discuss infrastructure and the AVE was high on their agenda.During the current government’s term in office, work on the Almeria-Murcia route has halted and with general elections in November or December the situation is worrying, the presidents agreed.“Not one new metre of track has been completed on a project that is a priority for the province,” Martinez Cano said.“This is something we cannot ignore or forget about, because we are talking about infrastructure that is crucial to Almeria’s economy.”
