TWO people have been given one-year jail sentences, banned from public office and fined €1,080 each for providing foreigners with Spanish passports and ID cards in exchange for money.
A Malaga court has found a civil servant from the city’s Distrito Este National Police headquarters and a man who put her in touch with men from abroad willing to pay for Spanish documents guilty of accepting bribes and faking official documents.
In the summer of 2002 the woman drew up and signed documents for a Nigerian man in exchange for €1,500 and also made DNIs and passports for two men who promised her €12,000 but failed to pay up.
