Britons charged over German’s death

TWO British men have been charged and one sent to jail to await trial following the death of a 46-year-old German man in La Cala de Mijas last week.
Ross DM, 30, and Stephen MB, 58, were arrested within two days of the incident (in the early hours of Thursday 16) following investigations by the Guardia Civil in collaboration with UK authorities.
While the latter has been charged with covering up a crime and released, Ross, who witnesses reported punching the victim in the face, has been remanded in custody as the main suspect for manslaughter after a post-mortem examination determined severe head injuries as the cause of death.
A reconstruction of events from witness statements led officers to believe that the victim, named as Ingo D, struck up conversation with the two men at The Captain’s Bar, a popular haunt for expatriates and tourists, and after buying them a round of pints began provoking them by messing about.
The final straw, witnesses reported, came when the German man took Stephen’s hat off and Ross reacted by standing up and punching him.
The two men reportedly carried Ingo outside, where he collapsed, and although they are believed to have tried to revive him, they allegedly fled the scene, without calling for help, upon realising that he was not reacting. The German man was already dead when an ambulance arrived.
Both suspects are believed to have records for offences in the UK and Ross has been arrested in Spain for illegal arms possession and driving without a licence.

Surprising isn’t it how often when you hear someone has been murdered here on the Costa, the assailant/s turn out to be British!
Have we turned into a nation of low-lifes or what? There was a time not so long ago when British people were respected and liked when they went abroad, but if this keeps up we will be pariah’s wherever we go in the future.

I completely agree Roy. I have returned to the UK now after 6 years of being there and I have to say, you wouldn’t believe how many of the people here are low life’s. It’s an embarrassment to be British!
