Tax news from the Nerja Foreigners Department

THE Nerja Town Hall Foreigners Department wishes to remind all expats residing in the town about upcoming taxes payments.
Foreign residents will soon receive an invoice for the taxes described below, which will have to be taken to the bank for payment. A bank order can be done for future receipts at the same time as payments or at the Nerja Tax Office (Patronato de Recaudación in Calle Axarquia 3, opposite Pinturas La Torre). Payments due are:
• The IBI, land property tax.
• The waste collection tax, corresponding to the first six-months of 2015. All foreigners except those living in the countryside (who do not have garbage collection) must pay this tax, which on average, amounts to €18 per six months.
• Garage entrance tax (2014), for all owners of a garage that allows parking.
• Cemetery (2015). For all residents who have a relative or acquaintance in the local graveyard.
