OWNERS of bars, restaurants, hotels and other businesses of the tourism sector can celebrate as they look forward to an outstanding season in terms of occupancy and sales.
As much as 90 per cent of tourism-related business owners in Andalucia are expecting to either keep or increase the sales volume and profitability of their companies, according to a study released by Exceltur.
The study shows that Andalucia is one of the most optimistic communities together with the Valencian Community, Balearic Islands and Catalonia.
The positive results have been accredited to the increase of national tourism and international markets, especially from France and Italy, which have registered 15 per cent and 11 per cent increases, respectively, in the second three-month period of the year and come as a result of the instability of other destinations in north Africa. Tourism from the UK has also registered a growth (3.4 per cent) as well as North America (9.2 per cent).
