London’s Tower Bridge closed due to suspect package now re-opens

A SUSPECT package was found on London’s Tower Bridge on Friday (July 17) prompting police to close the tourist attraction to members of the general public until it was made safe.
People were evacuated from nearby shops and buildings while Metropolitan police investigated the scene. Surrounding roads were also closed to pedestrians and city traffic.
Office workers reported seeing a Chinook helicopter flying above the famous London landmark while police were undertaking the operation.
