Workers melt as council finds its feet

TEMPERATURES and tempers are rising at Soller Town Hall as workers complain of unbearable heat inside the building.
The air conditioning system, which is reportedly more than 20 years old, has been broken for weeks, civil servants explained, but the new council does not have the €100,000 it would take to replace it.
As some workers bring electric fans in to try and avoid melting in their offices, the committee has decided to give the new leaders a vote of confidence and not lodge a formal complaint, for the time being at least.
