A 59-YEAR-OLD who was arrested by police after reportedly attacking his sister, was also caught allegedly growing marihuana at his home.
Authorities were alerted to a possible case of domestic violence in the Son Reus residential complex (Palma).
The man was taken into custody after police found enough evidence to believe he had beaten his sister.
After that, officers received an anonymous call alerting them that the property they had just visited could be hiding an illegal marihuana plantation.
They requested an official search order and were authorised to inspect the property, where they found a hundred marihuana plants, twelve lamps, a shotgun and other devices to create the optimal environment for the cultivation.
The arrested man was not only charged with a domestic violence crime but also for drug trafficking.
