Linking local urbanisations in Estepona

A NEW bridge under construction will soon save residents time and money by eliminating the need to use the motorway to get to neighbouring areas.
The bridge, being built over Arroyo Taraje in Estepona’s Costalita area, will link urbanizations which were previously only reachable via the A7 motorway.
Development, Infrastructures and Tourism Councillor Ana Velasco has announced that the work is half done and the most complicated tasks, including placing six supporting pillars in the riverbed, have been done.
Nineteen companies competed for the contract to carry out the work, which was won by Veroso Inergia SL for €165,767, saving the council €78,000 on the original budget.
Once the bridge is open, hopefully by the end of this month, Park Beach, Costalita, Hacienda and Sun Beach residents, amongst others, will see their long-standing demand for an easier way of moving about the area met, and traffic should be reduced on the busy stretch of motorway.
