Aggressive dad arrested for using baby as human shield

A MAN has been arrested in Castellon after using his baby as a human shield while attacking a group of youths who refused to give him cigarettes.

The Romanian man was drunk in charge of two minors, the baby and a young girl, the National Police force has reported.

Patrolling officers were called to the scene at midnight on Friday (July 10) by a group of people on Calle Harley Davidson in the Grao area of Castellon, who explained that the man had attacked and threatened them after asking for cigarettes.

Upon searching the pushchair, officers found a large kitchen knife, bottles of alcohol and baby bottles and as they tried to locate the children’s mother the man reported began to lash out at them while using his baby as a shield and threatening to throw the child to the floor.

Luckily a policeman eventually managed to snatch the baby away as another reduced the aggressive man and arrested him for threats and attacks.

The children’s mother arrived shortly afterwards and took charge of the two children, who luckily were unharmed, and the 28-year-old man was remanded in custody as two police officers were taken for treatment to minor injuries.
