Llucmajor’s Hotel Delta finally reopens

EMPLOYEES of the Hotel Delta in Llucmajor have breathed a sigh of relief after the facilities were reopened on Friday (July 3).
Catalonia-based group Best Hotels took over the Delta after it was suddenly closed down back in September of 2014, without giving notice to guests, due to money troubles.
The new owners have also taken care of all unpaid wages from 2013 and 2014.
Many of the 70 employees of the hotel had already stopped receiving unemployment benefits and were feeling very concerned about their futures, going as far as carrying out protests against the former owners of the hotel during the summer season of 2014.
The reopening of facilities has not been easy as they had been practically abandoned during the winter months. Traditionally, the hotel has resumed its activity by March to host tourists attracted to the area for cycling holidays.
