The Axarquia is chosen for A Place in the Sun

BRITISH TV series A Place in the Sun will feature Axarquia in an upcoming episode.
Beaches across Torre de Mar have been chosen as the setting for a new episode of A Place in the Sun, broadcast on Channel Four, which aims to help buyers who wish to settle in warmer climes than the grey UK find their dream home.
Members of the production team visited this Velez-Malaga district last weekend to find locations for the show, which has had big audience ratings over the past few years.
The Poniente beach in Torre del Mar was the winning option, with three different properties in the area. The show has featured the great qualities and beauty of Torre del Mar’s coast, which is expected to promote tourism positively amongst British viewers.
“We live in a privileged place,” said deputy mayor of Torre del Mar, Jesus Perez Atencia. He continued: “The fact that a prestigious production has shown interest in our town goes to show that Torre del Mar is a top-rated tourist destination thanks to its natural qualities and the effort put into reaching tourism excellence.”
