ALTEA’S new Museo Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Consuelo opened on Saturday June 27, boasting a number of 17th century items and more than a hundred religious objects of interest.
The church itself is well worth seeing, picturesque with a fabulously ornate interior. Located at the highest square of the town, you can walk up the cobbled streets and enjoy the view across to Albir at the top where there are several street cafes and sometimes there are markets held there.
The museum is free to enter every day of the week from 10am to 1.30pm and 5pm to 7pm.
There are several chalices and baptismal fonts on display as well as a pre-Vatican Roman Missal.
