Double heatwave hits with soaring temps

IT’S Spain, it’s July, it’s hot, and no one’s very surprised. But this July we’re experiencing freakishly hot weather, with forecasters saying a double heatwave hits the country on Friday July 3, which is unlikely to let up for at least a week.
Temperatures fell for a couple of days, but they are once again climbing towards 40C. AEMET weather office has issued a new set of warnings for Friday, increasing the alert level to orange for serious risk in several provinces for Saturday and Sunday.
AEMET spokesperson Ana Casals said: “It’s not normal to have two back-to-back heatwaves.”
