A MAN accused of uploading explicit pictures of women on the internet without their permission has been arrested by the Guardia Civil police force of Palma de Mallorca.
Police said they believed the man obtained photographs through the victims’ social media profiles, and then combined them using a computer programme with pictures of naked women who resembled them. Explicit pictures of other women were often uploaded under the name of the victims.
The man had reportedly also obtained real sexually explicit pictures of victims after becoming friends with them, which he also uploaded to the website, according to police.
The investigation began when authorities were alerted by one of the victims from Marratxi, after her friends found the pictures on a pornographic website.
The reported website had approximately 29,000 images of naked women. The 37-year-old administrator of the website and alleged culprit has been taken into custody and charged with a crime of slander.
