AS Spain swelters in the grip of a heat wave, British temperatures are not lagging too far behind this week with London likely to bust through the 30 degree Celsius barrier by Wednesday (July 1).
The Met office is predicting temperatures of 32C for London and the south east on Wednesday, likely to be the hottest day of the year so far. Other parts of the country will see rain on Wednesday after a dry couple of days, but still with steamy temperatures, amongst them Cardiff at 25C, Glasgow likely to hit 26C, while 29C is forecast for a likewise showery Manchester and Birmingham.
London is still some way off suffering the same blast of heat being experienced by some inland Spanish cities this week, with Madrid predicted to stay around 40C, and Cordoba experiencing a blistering 43C.
