Rincon de La Victoria raises the rainbow flag for gay pride

RINCON DE LA VICTORIA wants to show its status as an LGBT-friendly town and its support for the community’s rights.
In an event scheduled to take place on Saturday (June 27), the local government of Rincon de la Victoria will celebrate the International Day for Human Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersexual individuals by reading a manifesto of 15 actions against homophobia and transphobia at different levels of society such as education, culture and amongst youngsters, to guarantee a better sense of togetherness and respect for romantic, sexual and gender diversity.
The rainbow flag will be placed on the town hall façade and will flutter throughout the entire weekend, coinciding with the international gay pride celebration on June 28.
“Institutions play a very important role in defending the rights and wellbeing of a community that suffers constant instances of discrimination due to sexual orientation or gender identity,” said a council representative.
The commemorative event will start at 12noon and is supported by the Andalucian Rainbow Federation in Malaga.
