A FIRE started on the first floor of Palma’s health care centre Emili Darder today (Friday June 26) has forced staff to interrupt medical assistance and refer patients to other facilities.
The management board decided to suspend all activities due to the fire, which started in a room in the first floor where cleaning equipment is kept.
Patients who have an appointment for today are being referred to centres Escola Graduada, Son Gotleu, Pere Garau and Es Molinar, and the normal activity of the centre is expected to be resumed on Monday.
The incident will affect around 400 patients, and the alternative centres’ staff will be reinforced to ensure an adequate level of assistance.
