Man dies in audience participation bullfight

A MAN has died after being gored by a bull in an Extremadura town during a fiesta marking San Juan.
The incident occurred yesterday (June 24) in the town of Coria, where the local fiesta for the summer solstice is known as the Sanjaunes de Coria, and draws visitors from all over Spain.
The 43-year-old victim, from Morajales in Caceres, was fatally injured when members of the bullfight audience were allowed to enter the ring to fight the bull, named Guapeton.
He sustained severe injuries to his abdomen, groin and head. According to information released by the medical centre at the bullring, when he was brought in for treatment he was “already in traumatic shock and cardiac arrest.”
