THE body of a 40-year-old Danish woman was found on Sunday (June 21) with signs of violence at a hotel in Torre del Mar.
Her husband, a 50-year-old from Denmark, was taken into custody by the National Police force, according to the information released by the central government delegation in Malaga.
The man will remain in custody until authorities receive the results of a post mortem examination, which will be performed today (June 22).
Police reported that the woman was on holiday in the town, together with another Danish couple.
The body was found on Sunday morning after her husband alerted the hotel’s receptionist, saying his wife was not breathing. Upon their arrival, emergency services staff could only certify her death.
The hotel management also alerted National Police as they claimed the couple’s room showed signs of a disturbance.
Police also reported the woman’s body presented several bruises and a scratch on her chest. They also said she may have died several hours before their arrival.
