‘Pilgrims on wheels’: Axarquia Vespa Club depart for Santiago

MEMBERS of the Vespa Club Axarquia are embarking on an exciting adventure as they departed yesterday, June 19, on their Camino de Santiago journey.

Deputy mayor of Torre del Mar, Jesus Perez Atencia, and other council representatives bid farewell to the participants after a mass service in the San Andres Apostol church.

Eleven riders have departed from Torre del Mar and are expected to arrive in Galicia tomorrow, having travelled 1,200 kilometres.

The first phase of the trip will cover the distance between Torre del Mar and Don Benito (Extremadura), to then head towards Zamora and from there to their destination.

Council representatives have wished the pilgrims good luck and took the chance to congratulate them for taking on what they hoped would be a positive and enriching experience.
