THE Soho area of Malaga, located near the port and the CAC (Centro de Arte Contemporáneo) museum, will be home to the third edition of the festival SMS (Soho Malaga Sound) this weekend.
Nine groups will perform in this free festival, which is an initiative by the group MAUS (Malaga Arte Urbano Soho.) The concerts will take place Friday and Saturday (June 19-20) with performances starting at 6pm and lasting till midnight.
The festival is part of an on-going effort to revitalise the Soho area, which has been transformed over the last year by an infusion of art – particularly large-scale, professional-grade graffiti. For instance, festival goers can enjoy graffiti art by the famous artists Obey and D*Face, whose works grace the façade of the CAC – where the performances will take place.
Groups to perform this weekend include: Arizona Baby, Dry Martina, Niño de Elche, Motel Caiman, Stone Pillow, The Excitements, Hairy Nipples, Miraflores and TMGS.
