Love Island boosts Mallorca

THE steamy ITV hit reality show ‘Love Island’ is being shot in Mallorca and as well as raising the temperature of contestants the show is giving a serious boost to the local economy.
The production team has booked almost 10,000 hotel nights in establishments on the Island, mainly in the area of Colonia de Sant Jordi, according to the production team.
The shooting is currently taking place in a mansion in Ses Salines, fitted with 69 cameras, a bar area and the pool accredited as “the biggest in Mallorca”.
Hosted by Caroline Flack, the show kicked off on June 7 and will focus on single youths from the UK and Ireland, on their journey to find a summer love.
The show is expected to draw the attention of hundreds of tourists interested in getting to know the exact location of the shooting. In addition, the show has already created a large number of job positions as well as boosted local businesses.
