THE city of Alcoy requires urgent reinforcement alongside its riverbanks near the Valencia and Cadiseo Bridges.
The Council has written to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requesting urgent attention as a result of several landslides that have occurred in the area, the most serious of which took place on May 1 2014 in Tossals i Molins.
An area that is particularly affected is the calle Calderon where there was a landslide in January 2012 serious enough to close the area to traffic. The resulting damage has still not been repaired and industrial premises nearby have been the subject of a demolition order.
