THE Balearic Islands Regional Government has launched a service to give free psychological counselling to families experiencing difficulties.
The service will have 43 professional psychologists: 18 in Palma de Mallorca, six in Inca, six in Manacor, and the rest in areas of Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera, according to the statement released by the regional government.
The service has been designed to achieve an appropriate restoration of family dynamics and communication, as well as teaching members of the family how to solve conflicts taking into account the perspective of all those involved.
The pioneering service will be earmarked for families who have been referred by municipal social workers from health care, justice or education institutions.
