The 1st Bonalba Bowls Club Open Tournament

BONALBA Bowls Club’s inaugural Open Bowls Championship was held on Saturday June 6 with twenty Costa Blanca teams taking part in this triples competition.
On a very hot day bowling commenced at 9am and a keenly fought round of matches ensued. Each team played four matches of 50 minutes’ duration, scoring points for shots scored and ends won. After the first couple of matches the leaders were a team from El Cid Bowls Club skippered by Derek Randall.
As the final round of matches drew to a conclusion it was clear that the El Cid team had raced ahead and had won by a handsome margin. So congratulations to the winning team from El Cid consisting of Peter Truncheon, Derek Randall and Anita Randall, the first ever Bonalba Bowls Open Champions.
