ORIHUELA has authorised the felling of 17 large palm trees which are at risk of falling down. Councillor for the Environment Manuel Gallud said it was necessary to take the “painful decision” to fell 17 of the 100 large palms in the town’s Palmeral located near schools that were at risk due to deterioration. Ten palms have already been removed.
