Balearic residents are increasingly healthier

TOBACCO consumption in the Balearic Islands has registered a decrease of 1.77 per cent in 2014, the third largest reduction in Spain.
The report conducted by EAE Business School and called ‘Spending on tobacco, alcohol and gambling 2015’, showed that the islands were only beaten by Murcia (2.91 per cent) and Andalucia (1.77 per cent) in terms of tobacco consumption decrease.
In addition, Balearic residents spend only €40 per year on gambling activities, the second lowest amount, behind the Canary Islands (€38).
The national average for gambling amounts to €77 per citizen, which translates into 11 per cent increase since 2017.
