BIMBO logistics centre employees in Antequera are waiting to discover what their future holds as talks continue between the company and ATIB trades union.Union spokesman Vicente Carranza declared that the company was open to the possibility of transferring some of the workers to Azuqueca de Henares, Guadalajara, where logistics operations will continue. The company has agreed that the experienced workers from Malaga, where operations will end on June 30, are better qualified to carry out the work than new staff would be due to their knowledge of the complex routines involved, but conditions and guarantees still need to be hammered out, Carranza explained.“The workers are waiting to see what choices they are given which could be transfers, compensation, relocation or early retirement. It’s a very personal decision and depends on the family situation of each individual,” he said.
