Barcelona became champions of Europe for a fifth time and claim their third Champions League in six years as they beat Juventus 3 – 1 in Berlins Olympic stadium. In a game dominated by the Spaniards, they started as if they knew they could glide to a comfortable victory as they went one up inside the first five minutes. Even as Juventus – who should never be underestimated – scored the equalizer to make it 1 – 1, Barcelona’s Suarez knew the second goal had his name on it. Unable to mount a reply to the Spanish team in the second half, Juventus saw the last kick of the game seal their fate as Naymar stamped a 3 – 1 win on the score card. This win for the giants of football sees them finish the year with gold in the trophy case from the champions league, the Spanish league and the cup.
