Culture-vultures welcomed in Almachar

ALMACHAR will celebrate its well-known Culture Week between June 5 and 14, with a wide variety of activities.
On Wednesday (June 10), the little ones will be able to enjoy a theatre play and an afternoon snack organised by the Women’s Association.
On Thursday (June 11), there will be a tasting or organic wines as well as a lecture on vineyard management.
On Friday (June 12), singer and songwriter Lucia Socan will host a concert in the Casa de la Cultura at 9.30pm.
A show featuring the Choir Luz de Luna and other municipal dance and singing groups will be held on Saturday at 8pm also in Casa de la Cultura.
Other Axarquia municipalities such as Colmenar, Comares and Almachar will participate in the traditional dance gathering on Friday, at 6.30pm in Plaza de España.
Finally, on Sunday (June 14), the week will be completed with a hiking route along the Patamalara river in Competa. Inscriptions are €5 and can be made until June 11.
Other activities held include chess tournaments, ping pong, padel, workshops and storytelling for children amongst others.
