Costa toll road first in Europe to use new pre-pay system

A NEW pre-paid card will be on sale for the Costa del Sol toll motorway between Malaga and Guadiaro on June 8.
Aimed to meet the needs of holidaymakers and drivers who do not use the road frequently, or do not wish to pay annual fees or link toll payment accounts to their bank accounts, the SIGO system, the first to be launched in Europe, has been created specifically for the Costa road.
The main advantages of the cards, 2,000 of which will go on sale at toll booths and associated petrol stations, are speed and ease of use, and discounts will be given to frequent users, Bip&Drive director Marcelo Levit explained.
