A FLASH thunderstorm pounded Alcoy with rain and heavy hail, producing 19 litres per square metre in less than an hour on Sunday afternoon May 31, according to the meteorological station of the Forest Fire Association (ACIF) in Batoy.The storm rolled in just before 3pm and lasted just under an hour. The hail was severe but luckily did not cause any major damage.
