AROUND €400,000 has been put aside for safety improvements to be made to a variety of Mallorcan hiking trails, namely the routes between Valldemossa to Pollensa and Arta to Lluc. Routes, such as the one that goes from Lluc to Arta, that run through protected areas and nature reserves, will receive extra care and attention.Assigned to the areas will be two environmental agents, whose aim will be to maintain and protect the natural environment, as well as the heritage of these routes for future generations.Due to the increase in the number of hikers in Mallorca’s Tramuntana mountains, the investment is seen as essential to the trail staying open.
