VEHICLE sales in Malaga Province have registered an increase of 21.8 per cent during the first five months of 2015, if compared with the same period of 2014.
A total of 11,118 car registrations have been made so far this year, according to the data released by producers, car dealers and vendors associations (Anfac, Faconauto, Ganvam, respectively).
Private citizens’ purchases have grown by 25.6 per cent, with a total of 7,252 vehicles, while cars bought by companies have increased by 44 per cent (2,389).
Sales in Malaga represent a quarter of the total registered in the Andalucia region, where purchases amounted to a total of 43,820 (25.92 per cent more than in 2014).
Associations explained that the positive results are in part caused by the eighth year of the Spanish government’s PIVE incentive programme, which releases grants towards buying cars.
The Spanish vehicle industry has registered 21 consecutive months of increases, marking the highest market volume in five years.
