THE Malaga Provincial Court has sentenced a man to 22 years in jail for murdering his partner by stabbing her 15 times with a sewing awl in Torremolinos. The man stabbed the victim while she was still alive and “with the deliberate intention of increasing her pain,” the text of the judgement states. The 52-year-old man admitted to having killed his wife but said that he was under the effects of alcohol when the events took place, back in 2013. The man used a 14-centimetre sawing awl that was on a table. After that, he turned himself in at a nearby National Police station. The prosecutor’s office reminded the judge that the killer already had a criminal record for similar incidents and had been investigated previously for reportedly attempting to kill his own mother.
