Card gets discounts for Huercal-Overa under-30s

HUERCAL-OVERA has introduced a Carnet Joven card. Available to the town’s young people aged between 14 and 30 it entitles them to discounts in 60 local shops and for sporting, leisure and cultural activities.
Promoted by the town hall and local businesses, it was launched at an event that included music from two local groups, Arrumbao and La Nave del Coco.
“The card is free and provides multiple advantages; all they have to do is ask for it and – above all – to use it,” said the mayor, Domingo Fernandez.
The town hall is always prepared to listen to Huercal-Overa’s young residents, Fernandez continued: “We opened the public library over the weekend at their request and soon they will have a 24-hour study room.”
All those interested in acquiring a Carnet Joven can apply at either the Pabellon de Deportes or the Teatro. The card is free and is valid until the holder reaches 31 years of age.
