THE prosecutor’s office of the Granada Provincial Court has requested up to four years in prison for two managers of a car dealership in Motril on trial for a misappropriation crime.
The accused are a married couple named Jose Luis MP, who is facing a four-year sentence and a €6,000 fine if found guilty and Elena MV, who could receive a two-year sentence and a €4,800 fine.
According to the judicial decree, the suspects were appointed as managers of the business on October 2006 and January of 2007, respectively.
During 2007 and 2008, they reportedly carried out personal transactions and charged all costs to the company, including the purchase of a Mercedes Benz valued at €71,000 and trips costing €19,373.
The loss registered by the business owner would total €91,000. The trial has been scheduled for June 9 and 10.
