A GASTRONOMIC guided walking tour of Alicante has been introduced offering the opportunity to learn about traditional and delicious local foods.
The tours take in a tasting of the well-loved nut and cinnamon-flavoured ‘horchata’ as well as tipples of local wines and a chance to taste artisan nougat and luxury chorizo sausage.
Sampling of several varieties of seasonal fruit on sale in the local market will round up the walk including seasonal dates, figs, grapes and oranges directly from Mediterranean orchards.
The tours, which take around an hour and are available in English, leaving from the Esplanade de España on Fridays and Saturdays at 11am. Tickets may be reserved at the website www.alicantesmartdestination.com or call 965 927 715.
