LOCAL POLICE in Almuñecar have destroyed more than 60,000 items seized in the town during the past few years. Fake designer glasses, handbags, caps, sports equipment, music CDs are amongst the most common items confiscated by police, which have been shattered by a steam roller, placed in a shredder machine and then taken to the local rubbish tip.Most of the items were seized by local police in the areas of San Cristobal and La Herradura, according to the head of the Local Police team, Manuel Ledesma.
