THE average pension received by people in the Balearic Islands currently sits at €815.3 per month in May.Even though this number represents a 2.1 per cent increase if compared with the same month in 2014, it is still 8.1 per cent below the national average, according to the data provided by the Social Security and Employment National Institute.The average benefit payment for permanent disability currently amounts to €835, €571 for widowhood and €326 corresponding to orphans.In May 180,015 pensions were claimed, 1.9 per cent more than the same month of 2014.
