WORK has started to provide mains gas supply in Albox.
Redexis Gas, one of the main gas providers in Spain, has begun a project to lay more than 20 kilometres of pipes with an estimated investment of €3 million.
The pipes, which will supply more than 11,000 residents in the area, will allow both private homes and businesses to save money, the company said.
More than 50 jobs are also expected to be created.
The first phase of the project, which is already underway, includes building a connection to the Huercal-Overa–Baza–Guadixgas pipeline and creating the distribution lines within the town.
Eastern Andalucia representative for Redexis Gas Jose Enrique Carretero explained that brining mains gas to all areas of Almeria contributes to the region’s growth.
“It’s a clean, safe, efficient, comfortable source of energy that allows families to save money and helps businesses and industries be competitive,” he said.
