Adventure among the palm trees

ADVENTURE PARK: offers family friendly tourism in Elche.

FIVE months later than originally planned, Elche’s Palmeral Aventuras leisure park has finally opened in the Huerto de Travalon.
The adventure park has numerous circuits with over eight zip lines, including one of 200m long and a ‘TriAction Tower’ which is also wheelchair friendly. There is a lake for boating and smaller circuits suitable for children.
According to Elche Town Hall, the maintenance and care of the garden will be borne by the company that manages the leisure park: “We have replanted more than 200 copies of palms respecting the original grid and have assembled a nursery, in addition to stocking up on new specimens,” said Rafael Garrido, director of Elche Palmeral Aventuras.
The park is 4.3 hectares, cost €2 million and has recovered the use of the traditional garden, the canals and house which was previously abandoned. Elche’s Mayor, Mercedes Alonso, said the park will create 30 new direct and 70 indirect jobs and added: “We have a new tourist offer, focused on family tourism, congresses and all kinds of events.”
